The preparation for the sacrament of First Eucharist takes place during the second year of Religious Education instruction for elementary and middle school students. The cooperation of parents is essential to the success of this sacramental preparation program. Parents are asked to attend five information meetings during the year. At the end of the second year, there are sixteen weeks of Sacramental Preparation. Six weeks of Reconciliation Preparation. Nine weeks of Eucharist Preparation.

ELEMENTARY – Grades 1 through 5
The program for elementary school encourages children to better understand their faith as they grow. The curriculum prepares children for the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist and helps them to mature in their faith.
MIDDLE SCHOOL – Grades 6 through 8
The program for younger teens addresses real-life teen issues. Our curriculum focuses on building strong relationship with God and their faith community and sound religious principles.
SPECIAL NEEDS
We are pleased to offer Religious Education classes as well as Sacramental Preparation for students with special needs.
SPANISH CLASSES
Classes in Spanish are available for students in 1st - 4th grade only. The student must be able to read, write and speak in Spanish at their grade level.

Baptismal Certificate
All students and their families are expected to attend Mass on Sundays and all Holy Days of Obligation. Students are expected to attend at least 85% of their classes. After three absences, the student’s continuing status will be reviewed.
Parents are expected to attend all parent information meetings. A special series of five meetings are held in preparation for the First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The presentations are designed to help parents grow in their understanding and appreciation of the Mass, the sacrament of Reconciliation, and Eucharist. Open to all adults, the series is offered in particular to parents whose children would like to receive First Penance and First Eucharist.
